Photo Repairs - Add-Remove 

If you have a collection of photographs, there is a good chance that at least one of them has one or two things in them that keep them from being as good as you would like. It could be that one of the people blinked as the photo was being taken, or a child making an unnecessary hand gesture. Whatever the problem is, it is a distraction from an otherwise beautiful picture. The good news is with today’s technology it is possible with photo repairs to add, remove, etc. any undesirable portions of your photograph.

With the improvement in digital photography and photo restoration techniques it is possible to repair a photo, restore a photo and otherwise fix old photos so that they return to the quality of the original photograph. In fact, in some instances the restored photo is better than when the photograph was first taken.

Digital technology makes the ability to carry out photo repairs like add, remove, etc. any unwanted or undesirable portions of your photograph a reality. Some of the possible photo enhancements would be digitally opening a persons eyes in a photo if they were caught blinking when the picture was snapped. It could be a brother holding his fingers up behind his sister’s head in a family photo. When working with digital images almost anything is possible.

Once your photographs are scanned into a digital format a technician goes through the photo making any repairs or changes that you want accomplished. On the surface this is an easy procedure, but it does require skill and patience to make it look right. For instance, it you wanted to remove your son’s annoying fingers from behind your daughter’s head, you would not only need to remove the image of the fingers, but you would also need to restore the image of the background.

Photo repairs are not always easy to accomplish. Fingers are small and are not that difficult, but if you are removing larger objects it is not easy to make the background look natural. There are many shades and textures in backgrounds that need to be matched by the technician. If it is not done correctly the background could look blurred or unnatural.

The good news is with digital technology the only limits to what can be accomplished with image repairs and enhancements are your own imagination and the skill of the person doing the work. Other than that, almost anything is possible.
