Photo Restoration

One of the drawbacks of photographs is that they are printed on paper, and paper is not very durable.  Over the years the photos in your collection may become bent, torn, or discoloured.  The more these photos are handled, the more likely it is that they will become damaged in some way.  The good news is that these damages can be undone.  Through a process of digital photo restoration you can repair the damage that has been done to your photographs through accidents or mishandling. 

Photo restoration is done by scanning the image into a computer.  This digital image can then be opened by a graphics program that will allow a trained photo restoration specialist to make any changes to the photograph that you desire.

The photo above is an example of an image that is need of quite a lot of photo restoration and repair.  The photo is badly creased, the top right corner is missing, it has become discoloured, The date was written on it, and there is a dark stain on part of the image.  Photos in this condition are typically stored away and are seldom taken out to be enjoyed.  This is a shame, because based on the condition it was obviously important and was handled quite a bit over the years.

By using digital technology, even photos in this condition can be restored to their original condition, and once again be displayed and enjoyed as much as when the photo was first taken.  Proper photo restoration can remove the creases, erase the discolourations, and bring the details back into focus.
